Download FTPShell Client and FTPShell Server
Download FTPShell Client
The download installs the complete client. It runs as the Enterprise edition for 30 days, with scripting, the console client, scheduled tasks, folder sync and remote search, and then continues as the free Personal edition for non-commercial use. Favorites, queues and tasks are kept.
| File name | Site | Date | Size | Description |
| ftp_setup.msi | US1 (HTTP) | Jul 09, 2026 | 6.0 MB | FTPShell Client 7.12 (30-day Enterprise trial, then the free Personal edition) |
The MSI installs the GUI (ftpshell.exe), the FTPShell Editor, the diff viewer, the logon scheduler helper, the ftpshellc console client and the manuals (CHM and PDF), adds the install folder to PATH for the console and creates Start menu and desktop shortcuts. Settings live in ProgramData, shared by every Windows user on the PC, and survive reinstalling. Compare the editions or read about the free edition.
Download FTPShell Server
The download includes a 30-day trial license for the Secure Plus Edition. After 30 days, the licensing automatically converts to the free Personal Edition.

Questions people ask
Is the FTPShell Client download free?
Yes. There is one installer; it starts as a 30-day Enterprise trial and then becomes the free Personal edition for non-commercial use. No license key is needed to download or install.
What happens after the 30 days?
The program keeps working as the Personal edition: FTP, FTPS and SFTP sessions, the transfer queue with resume, favorites, the editor and logging. Paid features show a "(pro/ent license)" hint. Buying a Professional or Enterprise license unlocks them again with a key file, no reinstall needed.
Can I deploy it to many machines?
The installer is a standard MSI, settings are shared per PC, and the ftpshellc -loadlic command installs a license key file from the command line on headless or managed machines.

Download a free, simple, secure FTP, SFTP and FTPS client for Windows 10 and 11, 64 bit: the best FTP client download for the trial
The ftp_setup.msi file above is the only download: it installs on 32- and 64 bit Windows 10 and 11, includes FTP, FTPS and SFTP, and starts as the 30-day Enterprise trial before becoming the free Personal edition. Whether it is the best FTP client for you is for the trial to show; nothing is lost if the answer is no, because the free edition keeps working.
Is there an FTP browser download, a pro download or a free secure FTP download?
They are all the same file. FTPShell's dual-pane browser, the Professional and Enterprise features and the secure SFTP and FTPS sessions are all in the one installer; a license key chooses the edition afterwards. There is no separate pro download and no separate secure download.
